BACKGROUND & FAMILY

Kevin Kegarise is a Nashville area native. He grew up in Franklin, Tennessee where he attended Franklin High School during which time, he played varsity basketball before attending famed Oak Hill Academy in Mouth of Wilson, Virginia. While at Oak Hill, he helped lead his team to a 40-1 record, had 4 of his games broadcast on ESPN, and finished as national runner-up in the USA Today/Associated Press high school basketball rankings.

After high school, Kevin attended Birmingham-Southern College where he received his B.S. in Business Administration. While at BSC, Kevin played on the men’s basketball team, scoring over 1,000 points in his career and garnering all-conference honors. He was then admitted to the Charleston School of Law in Charleston, South Carolina. During law school, Kevin collaborated with the Medical University of South Carolina to develop a Medical-Legal Partnership where he educated patients in the Palliative Care Unit on the importance of generation-passing documents such as wills, advance care directives, healthcare powers of attorney, and durable powers of attorney. Kevin was very active in the Charleston community. He was a member of the Health Law Society, Business Law Society, and Real Estate Society. He also worked hard in the classroom, earning the highest grade in his class and the CALI Award for Academic Excellence in Criminal Procedure.

Following graduation from law school and passing the Tennessee Bar Exam in 2022, Kevin found his tenacity and competitiveness was best suited by being the voice for those who could not speak for themselves. He joined the Law Office of Joshua D. Miller, P.L.L.C. in August of 2022. Kevin focuses primarily on criminal defense, family law, and juvenile law. Kevin brings his natural competitive instincts, diligence, and attention to detail to Maury County and the surrounding counties to ensure that every client doesn’t have just a lawyer, but a passionate believer in justice.

Kevin met his better half, Lydia, in law school. He enjoys spending time with her, their black lab dog (Maverick), going to concerts, and playing basketball/going to the gym. He and Lydia also have a passionate, but fun rivalry when watching their favorite college football teams. Lydia attended Clemson University and loves the Tigers while Kevin bleeds Scarlet and Gray and loves THE Ohio State Buckeyes.
