BACKGROUND & FAMILY

Joshua Miller grew up in central New Hampshire where he attended Laconia High School and worked at the local bowling alley. During his upbringing, he was exposed to and embraced the strong ideals of self-reliance, hard work, and respect for individual rights and civil liberties that New Hampshire is known for.

After graduating from high school, Josh attended Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana, where he was elected to represent over 12,000 undergraduate and graduate students as the Vice President for Student Affairs. In this role, Josh helped resolve disputes among different student groups, as well as disputes between students and the university. This was Josh’s first exposure to acting as a mediator and problem solver for opposing groups. Through this experience, Josh discovered that he had a talent for and desire to help disputing groups find workable solutions.

When Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans, Tulane was forced to temporarily shut down. During that time, Josh was one of a handful of students to be accepted by Harvard University as part of an exchange program to continue his education. While at Harvard, Josh studied and excelled alongside some of the brightest minds in the country, and maintains those relationships and connections to this day.

After graduating from Tulane, Josh enrolled in Loyola University’s College of Law. While at Loyola, just focused his legal studies on the areas of business, criminal, and family law. As part of his legal education, Josh completed an internship with the district attorney’s office for Belknap County in his home state of New Hampshire. While at the district attorney’s office, Josh helped try and investigate all manners of crime. As a criminal defense attorney, Josh has found that the time he spent interning at the district attorney’s office has given him an extremely strong background and unique insight into defending his clients.

After graduating from Loyola, Josh took and passed both the New Hampshire and Tennessee bar exams. Shortly thereafter, he opened his own law office in Spring Hill, Tennessee. After repeated visits to the Columbia, Tennessee area, Josh fell in love with the community and decided to relocate his practice to downtown Columbia, and now happily serves the areas surrounding Columbia, Maury County, and the rest of Middle Tennessee.

At the Law Office of Joshua D. Miller, Josh handles criminal, civil, small business, and family cases. Josh has a passion for the practice of law, as well as an ability to ensure that the smallest details are done right. Josh’s adherence to those values ensures that every one of his client’s gets the service and attention they deserve.
